Welcome to my website and thank you for considering my counselling service.
Within the site I have listed full details of my qualifications and experience as well as frequently asked questions, so that you can make an informed decision about your choice of a counsellor.
In addition I have written a number of articles about counselling on the site as well as tips for a healthy relationship and sexual health. I will be adding to these and hope you can find the time to visit again.
If you have already separated or divorced You can also find details and a link to my divorce and separation website which explains New start.. a practical ten week course designed to help you understand how your relationship ended and work through the mixture of emotions that comes with separation and divorce
In my counselling practice I see individuals as well as couples. In addition to my private practice I am affiliated with a number of Employment assisted programs and insurance company's offering short-term counselling to individuals and couples. I work with a variety of problems including infidelity, step/blended family issues, cultural clashes, sexual difficulties, divorce, separation, anger management as well as depression and anxiety.
I have been a counsellor for over seventeen years and am full individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and a member of The Institute of Transactional Analysis. I operate within both organisations' strict ethical guidelines to ensure safe and contained clinical practice. I have over 4000 counselling hours experience. As an EAP provider I have police checks
I originally trained as a young persons counsellor, and went on to train with and work at RELATE the UK's leading couple counselling charity before starting my up my private counselling practice in Hinckley in 2004. Additionally I have recently completed four years of advanced clinical training in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy and hold a certificate in psycho-sexual therapy.
Transactional Analysis is a broad based 'talking therapy' although it's roots lie in Freudian psychoanalysis it also draws upon other counselling models including gestalt, person centered and cognitive behavioral therapy. I believe it lends it's self very well to marriage and couple counselling .
My own personal counselling philosophy has always been a pragmatic one though, and I draw upon my different training models and experience to suit each individual or couples personal needs and goals.
I enjoy working with couples very much and believe everyone has a right to a healthy and happy relationship. One of the most special and rewarding aspects of my job is to see couples repair, and grow together their relationship.
I hope this information has been helpful, please don't hesitate to call me on 01455 612167 if you would like a consulation. I look forward to meeting with you.
